At Flintwood Billenya we provide a wide array of person centred programs and activities, which have been developed by identifying individual’s strengths, talents and interests (through discussions with individual’s, carer’s and/or families) which are key factors to ensuring these are realistic and achievable.
We encourage and support individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals within a safe and caring environment, where individuals have a voice and are heard. Each individual is given the right to choose and are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Individuals who access our services are provided with a sense of self-worth and belonging. They have the opportunity to interact in a group setting, while participating in a number of centre and community based programs/activities.
These programs provide fun and recreational experiences along with opportunities to maintain/build fundamental life skills and independence. Our focused support ensures everyone’s needs are met.
The Billenya Day Program is open, inviting, comfortable and relaxing, allowing easy access throughout. We currently have two brand new buses (one with a hoist) which makes it easy for us to get around and experience all the beautiful destinations the Northern Beaches has to offer, as well as excursions to other locations around the Greater Sydney region.
Our programs are tailored to meet a variety of needs and allow everyone to be involved. We provide a variety of cultural activities such as Music Therapy, African drumming, Arts and Crafts.
Stimulating sensory activities to tantalise the senses through visual, tactile, auditory and vibration equipment, and our newly developed Sensory room contains state of the art resources. Massage chairs, foot spas, I-pads are just some of the resources available.
We also realise the importance in remaining active and offer a multitude of programs which encourage movement and exercise from simple stimulating sensory walks through National parks, Dance Therapy, Zumba, Saleability, Swimming/Hyrdatherapy, Bowling and many more.
We take pride in providing a top quality service and our enthusiastic and energetic staff provide the best possible support. We continue to develop our service to best meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and look forward to the future.
